In the morning of January 9, 2019, the International conference on “Vietnam’s agricultural production and cooperation opportunities between Vietnam and China” was successfully held at VNUA.

Participating in the conference were Mr. Hoa Vinh Quan, the Secretary-General of Chinese Agricultural Medicine Development and Application Association; Mr. Phung Ve Dong, Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Business and Market of Agricultural Supplies, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong, VNUA’s Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Duc Huy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Long, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office; Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dung – Director of the Center of Organic Agriculture, together with staff and lecturers from the Faculty of Agronomy, Center of Organic Agriculture, International Cooperation Office, Science and Technology Office, and enterprises leaders and VNUA’s students.
In the opening remark, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong highlighted VNUA’s notable achievements in research and international cooperation such as establishing 49 strong research groups; developing scientific and technological models for the training and research of the university staff and students; cooperating with 100 universities and international organizations; and receiving thousands of opportunities for international student exchange, etc. Prof Cuong also expressed his wish to establish and develop cooperation relationship between VNUA and Chinese Agricultural Medicine Development and Application Association in both research and international cooperation.

At the conference, specialists delivered presentations on cropping pattern; current uses of fertilizers and pesticides in Vietnam; Vietnam’s current organic agricultural production; an overview of fertilizer market in Vietnam; Development and operation of Chinese companies in the field of agricultural materials in Vietnam; Discussion and cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese companies.

After the presentations, the conference participants had a heated discussion about issues of Vietnam’s agricultural production as well as investment opportunities in Vietnam. The conference reached an agreement to assign Mr. To Nhat Mau, CEO of the Joint Stock Doctor Agriculture Company, Vietnam, and Dr. Chu Anh Tiep, Vice Director of the Center of Organic Agriculture, as the cooperation bridge for the production of agricultural products for the society.
