The event was also delighted to welcome distinguished representatives from international organizations, diplomatic missions, embassies of several countries in Hanoi, Communist Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Gia Lam district, Communist Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Trau Quy Town, and academic institutions, affiliates, and agencies which have established close cooperation in training, science and technology with the University.

On VNUA’s side, attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof.  Dr. Vu Van Liet, Communist Party Secretary, Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Vien, Communist Party Deputy Secretary, Rector, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Oanh, Chairman of the Trade Union, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Youth Union along with former Rectors and Vice Rectors, former deans and heads of departments, former lecturers over its time of development. The event drew a great attention of the University’s staff and students.

Vietnam National University of Agriculture established on the basis of reorganization of Hanoi University of Agriculture is a public academic institution under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development instead of the Ministry of Education and Training. VNUA is strongly expected to be a leading and multidisciplinary academic institution in training, research, and social services in the fields of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries to contribute to the national development. Furthermore, it must be developed as a regionally recognized university as his Honorable Minister Cao Duc Phat stressed.

Over nearly 60 years of development, the University has provided the nation with highly qualified human resources of nearly 80,000 undergraduates, 5,000 masters, and 500 PhDs in the agricultural field.

\r\n

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Cao Duc Phat highly appreciated the contributions of lecturers and staff through the University’s development and affirmed that VNUA must perform its key and important tasks in building a cohesive connection between the human resources training and the implementation of the development strategies and plans to realize goals of national agricultural and rural development restructuring in the coming period.

Minister Phat presented the Decisions of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development on the Appointment of the President Board of VNUA, according to which Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Vien was appointed to be President;  Assoc. Prof.  Dr. Vu Van Liet, Assoc. Prof.  Dr. Nguyen XuanTrach, Assoc. Prof.  Dr. Dinh Van Chinh, and Assoc. Prof.  Dr. Nguyen Tat Canh  to be Vice Presidents.

On behalf of the entire University, Prof. Dr. Vien expressed his sincere thanks to the  staff and students for their enormous and continuous efforts and to the Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Training, Minister of Agricultural and Rural Development, and leaders of relevant agencies and departments for their guidance, and strong support and cooperation. Without their efforts and supports, it could not have been possible for the University to obtain those remarkable achievements and build its prestige in the nation and in the region as well.
