On the afternoon of July 11, 2022, the delegation from Nottingham Trent University, UK led by Mr. Stephen Williams - Director of External Relations of Nottingham Trent University visited and worked at the Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA). Accompanying the delegation were Mr. Chris Crabot - Vice Director of External Relations of Nottingham Trent University and Ms. Vidhi Sahae - Director of the Office of Partnerships, in charge of South Asia, Southeast Asia and Australia. Welcoming and working with the delegation, on the side of VNUA, there were Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, VNUA’s Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Viet Dang - Director of the Training Management Office and representatives of the International Cooperation Office, Faculty of Accounting and Business Administration, and Faculty of Economics and Rural Development.

 

Overview of the working session

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, VNUA’s Vice President - sent a warm welcome to the Nottingham Trent University delegation. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong emphasized that international cooperation was a meaningful solution to foster the training exchange and to improve the quality of training for students. The establishment of a cooperative relationship between VNUA and Nottingham Trent University would open up opportunities for VNUA’s students to study in an international training environment at the world's leading educational institutions like Nottingham Trent University.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Stephen Williams - Director of External Relations of Nottingham Trent University thanked the warm and attentive welcome from VNUA and expressed his desire to learn more about the various activities of VNUA, thereby building and establishing a cooperative relationship between the two universities in training and scientific research activities, and facilitating the exchange of lecturers and students in the coming time.

At the meeting, VNUA and Nottingham Trent University signed a cooperation agreement (MoA), in which the two sides would cooperate in training undergraduate degrees in International business management. High school graduates and students who meet the English requirements of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent are eligible to participate in a training program under the 2+1+1 model, in which during the first 2 years of study, they will study in Vietnam, in the 3rd year, they will study at Nottingham Trent University to be awarded a Bachelor of International Business Management degree, and in the 4th year, they would study a master's program at Nottingham Trent University (if desired). Graduates would be facilitated by the British Government to grant a Visa to work at UK for 2 years after graduation and be offered many other job opportunities in the UK and Europe.

In addition, 3rd-year students majoring in Business Administration (VNUA’s Advanced Program) are eligible to participate in the program under the 3+1+1 model. For both models, tuition fees are charged according to VNUA’s norms during the period of study in Vietnam and the norms of Nottingham Trent University during the period of study in the UK.

The visit and working program of the Nottingham Trent University delegation at VNUA ended successfully in an open and friendly atmosphere. The meeting was extremely important, serving as a premise to mark the development and open up opportunities for extensive cooperation between the two universities in the coming time.
