Recognizing provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2016 and agreements of the Minute of the meeting held on 27 April 2018 between Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) and the Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST) China, the two sides promoted mutual cooperation through student exchange activities. Accordingly, VNUA sent three students who are among the best freshmen (the 2018-2019 academic year) to pursue bachelor training program at the SWUST with full scholarships offered by the SWUST and received four SWUST master students to do their research under the supervision of VNUA lecturers for three months from September to December 2018.

In the afternoon of December 24, 2018, VNUA held a meeting to deliver certificates of completion of three-month research to the SWUST students. Attending the meeting hosted by the International Cooperation Office were mentors from the Faculty of Agronomy, Biotechnology, and Environment and the SWUST students. The meeting was also the opportunity for students and mentors to give their feedbacks, comments and recommendations for better performance of following exchange programs.

Although the time was short, the SWUST students made great efforts to do their research and were highly appreciated by their mentor for their attitude, hardworking spirit and significant primary research results. About the study environment at VNUA, the SWUST students shared their deep impressions of a beautiful, friendly, hospitable university and high appreciation on responsibility of VNUA international officials and lecturers and especially the helpfulness and companion of VNUA students to international students. Besides, they also expressed a common ambition that VNUA should continue to enlarge scholarship policy to attract more international students, adjust practice time and execute flexible research in the laboratory based on distinctive requirements of internship program or thematic research to support exchange international students better.

On behalf of VNUA, the International Cooperation Office leader expressed her sincere thanks for the SWUST students’ comments and sharing which are definitely helpful to VNUA in its journey to innovation and international education integration. The university hopes that it will be a destination for the future SWUST students and many other students in the regions and worldwide as well.
